The Campus covers an area of 765mu, with a total floor space of 163,900 square meters.  ~ The new campus is situated in the Southeastern suburbs of Xinxiang, a key industrial city in Henan Province.  ~ The old Campus is located to the South of the Sumen Mountain, near the shore of the Baiquan Spring, a place of natural beauty in Huixian City, Henan Province.

Founded in 1949, Henan Vocational-Technical Teachers College (HVTTC) is a Higher College in Henan Province.  Formerly, it was known as Henan Agricultural School, Pingyuan Agricultural College and Baiquan Agricultural Institute. In February 1987, it was upgraded into HVTTC with the approval of the State Education Commission and has been undertaking the task of training teachers for Vo-Tech Education and also bearing the reponsibility for training for high level specializations.

The College now consists of 10 Departments and 23 Specialities and has a total number of 4,500 undergraduates and students taking sub-degree courses.  In addition, the College has over 2,400 students who are taught by correspondence and there are more than 1,600 students studying at the attached Secondary Vocational School.  The HVTTC has become a full time undergraduate course-centred, multi-level and multi-form comprehensive College, with specialities such as agriculture, science, business, administration and art.

The HVTTC has a total number of over 800 teachers and staff members, of whom over 160 are Professors and Associate Professors. ~ Over 300 are lecturers, among them 14 are 'National Level" Science and Technology Management Experts and 13 are PhDs and Postdoctorals.  ~ The College has nearly 70 various laboratories.  It also has more than 60 outer practical facilities.  The College Library has a collection of 320,000 books, and subscribes to over 1,300 periodicals published both at home and abroad.  ~ Both the new and old campuses have standard tracks and fields, covering an area of over 100mu.

The College now has more than 50 Scientific Research items at State and Provincial level within the 'Ninth Five-Year' plan.  In recent years, the College has won 248 rewards for achievements in Scientific Research.  Among them 7 are of State-rank and 124 are of Provincial rank.  The College edits and publishes its own periodicals; "Journal of Henan Vocational Technical Teachers College (on Science)";  "Journal of Henan Vocational Technical Teachers College (on Vocational Education)"; and "The Periodical Newspaper of Henan Vocational Technical Teachers College".

In this 21st Century, we shall continue to strive to be more liberal, to make profound reforms and to speed up development, in order to make our College into a Vocational-Educational base leading both Henan and the whole country.  ~ We expect HVTTC to be a Vocational-Technical Education Training Centre, Research Centre and Information-Exchange Centre, and a First-level Vocational Technical Teachers College of China.  Our aim is to make more and more brilliant achievements.

The Campus Gardens

To foster talents has always been the central task of the College.  From the start, it has paid a great deal of attention to improving the initiative and capabilites of the students. ~ For instance, the College has carried out an educational principle to produce students with extensive knowledge, basic skills, varying abilities and high competence.  ~ Another successful implementation is to qualify teachers with the "double certifications' system, double skills' training and double bases' constructions, etc."

The College has found a unique approach to education which integrates professionalism with technicality, technology and education.  ~ In recent years, the College has been greatly honored with such titles as College with Advanced Party Construction and Political Work in Henan Province, Civilized College of Henan Province, Advanced Vocational-Technical Education Unit of Henan Province, Advanced 'Campus Constructional Unit in China, etc.
